BEAUTY QUEEN FACED WITH SAVING MOTHER OR HUSBAND AND HER ANSWER WILL TRIP SOME GUYS!

Miss Chidinma Chigbu
  • Are pageants pressured for sex to win?
  • How romantic are Nigerian men on a scale of 1 - 10?
  • Mother or husband, who will you save?

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Can we get to meet you? Who really is Dinma Chigbu?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu: Well, my full name is actually Chidinma Chigbu, currently the Miss Galaxy Nigeria Carnival Queen...... very ambitious, loving and (I tell you) very nice to be with.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Besides being a queen, what else should we know about your career?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Uhmmm, I’ve always loved to be in the entertainment industry, and this is the first step I’ve taken in my career step.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Interesting. What inspired you to go the way of a beauty queen?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu: The way God created me and seeing how far Agbani Darego has gone in life with the same stature, and then I told myself I need to step into this because I was created that way for a purpose. Then I started.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Really. What similarities are there between you and Agbani Darego that has spurred you on?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu: I guess it's the stature.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U:  The stature? Please can you elaborate on this with your statistic for those who might not recall how Agbani Darego looked back then?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Okay, my statistics are 32", 26", 34", 5.8ft

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Waoh! 5.8ft? I'm fortunate not to have to look up to see your face while standing.

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Hahaha. *mosking* You really are, yea, I agree.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: How did your parents perceive this goal of yours? Were they at some point in opposition to your choice to be a beauty queen?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:   Yes they were, but at a point they had to support me because they found out it was what I’ve been longing to do right from when I was a kid....They just had to agree with me and backed me up with advice.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U:  Why did they initially resist & how were you able to convince them?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Especially my dad, he didn't buy the idea; his reason was that I was going to be distracted from my studies. But as God may have it, this one came up as I was about to finishing my final exams, so I begged him to allow me since the exams were gonna be over before the grand finale, so he didn't have any choice not to.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U:  Oh, your studies. I guess that must have been a valid basis for concern, not so?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  That's true.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Alright. Looking at the beauty pageant industry, and considering that most eligible participants are schooling, what challenges would you say a student faces while engaging in it?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Well the challenges are quite large, sometimes finances won’t be available for one to get stuffs needed, or the lectures in school might be taking the participant's time.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: In the movie industry, producers and directors have been alleged to pressure the female folks into some affairs before being assured a role. Does this exist in the beauty pageant industry?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  I can’t say for sure because I haven't experienced that before. But I’m not saying it does not exist in the pageantry industry.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Fair enough. Where do you see yourself in the industry a decade from now?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Wow! Dunno if I’m to call it a short or long term goal, but whatever it is, I see myself as a famous Queen, who's not only known in Nigeria but internationally in a decade from now.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: That seems a tall goal. Do you see yourself repeating the feat achieved by Agbani Darego?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  I see myself repeating it.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: So, what projects on the national stage are you embarking on that will get you closer to that dream besides where you are now?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  When my reign expires as Miss Galaxy Nig. Carnival, then I would try the MBGN, Miss Nigeria or any higher contest than the one I’m in currently.... I believe aspiring higher is the key

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Let's veer a bit into some soft sides of you and life. As a beauty queen, do you face pressure from men who want more of you? If yes, how do you cope?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Yes I do...... I think it’s normal for every lady whether beauty queen or no beauty queen.... I don't know how but I just cope. God's grace I guess

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Well, it should be much of a pressure for a 5.8ft beauty queen. Don't you think so?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:   You are right, though.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Would you describe Nigerian men as romantic in comparison with their counterparts in the western world and other climes? On a scale of 1 -10, how would you rate Nigerian men in this regard?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  If I’m not to rate, I would say it's just vice versa, because not all Nigerian men are romantic and same with their counterparts in the western World. But if I’m to rate I would say 5. *mosking*

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Laughing So, you saying Nigerian men are average. Who would you describe as your ideal date?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  (laughs out loud) *mosking* Ideal date? Never thought of that before. If I do I would tell you  *wink *wink*

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: :) Is that to say you don't have a preference?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  But it's all in a package. I do

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: So can you let us in on it? :)

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:   I guess it is best known to me. If I say it loud he might not come my way. So let’s just leave it aside (laughing) *mosking*

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: When you aren't working or studying, what lightens up your mood?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu: Movies do.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U:  To round it up, we'd like to ask you this: Imagine you were married, and you had just one lifebuoy to give out between your husband and your mother, in a ship that is capsizing in the middle of a sea, who would you give it to?

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Mmmh, I will just wake up cos it's a dream...... (laughs out loud ) *mosking* Mum or hubby? Nahhhh..... It will be a dream

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U:  (lolz) *mosking* Well in this case we ain't making it a dream. Just tell us who if you find yourself in this situation

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:  Huh? Difficult question indeed, but I will give it to my Husband!

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: waoh! Please tell us why.

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu:   Uhmmm, because we are still trying to live a life together, but my mum, she has lived hers..... Also she won’t even accept the lifebuoy for the same reason, difficult though.

Eze Victor, UEze Victor, U: Yes, you can now wake up from this dream. laugh Such a man must be tripping after reading this. Miss Chidinma Chigbu, I appreciate your obliging us this interaction and hope that you'd be available the next time we will be interviewing you, perhaps as a miss Nigeria or miss world.

Miss Chidinma ChigbuMiss Chidinma Chigbu: Thank God for the dream gone by.....You are welcome and I’m looking forward to that time.
