Pete Edochie, a veteran Nollywood actor, has praised his late grandson, Kambilinachukwu Edochie, saying he was successful even at a young age.

According to zeeny360.com, Kambilinachukwu was the son of Nollywood star Yul Edochie. On Thursday morning, the 16-year-old kid died.

Yul had just celebrated his 16th birthday with his wife, May Edochie, when his son died.

Yul honoured his (son's) 16th birthday on January 4 through his verified Instagram profile, writing, "A very happy 16th birthday to my first son, Kambilinachukwu Leo Yul-Edochie. May God lead and protect you always. With many more happy years." May God always guide and protect you. With many more wonderful years ahead of you. "Daddy loves you."

However, Edochie said the deceased was brilliant and talented.

“Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.

“He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects.

“He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in anything they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long,” Edochie reported said in an interview he granted.

Edochie claimed that the deceased suffered a seizure after collapsing while playing football with his classmates.

He said that Kambilichukwu was transported to Lagos' Mother and Child Hospital, where he died hours later.
