Alami, who claims to be from Ibadan but now lives in Lagos, says Obi helps people and that he admires him.
A youngster, Yusuf Alami, has disclosed why he stepped in front of the motorcade of the Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the party's campaign event in Lagos State on Saturday.
In a popular social media photo, the adolescent is shown throwing his arms out wide in front of a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV, with Obi standing through the open roof of the car, smiling at the teenager.
When the adolescent was interviewed in another viral video that went popular on social media Saturday night, Alami said that he stepped in front of the caravan because he loved Obi.
Alami, who claims to be from Ibadan but now lives in Lagos, says Obi helps people and that he admires him.
He went on to say that if Obi wins the polls, he (Alami) will pray for the presidential candidate's success.
Alami, speaking in Pidgin English, stated, “I like am well, well, cause he (Obi) dey help people… I go pray for am if he win.”
According to an unconfirmed comment credited to a Facebook user, "The young boy said that he wished that he's 18years old so that he will vote for Peter Obi but he decided to stand in front his convoy to pray for him to win."
Datti Baba-Amed, Obi's running companion, was also present, as was Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization Afenifere.
