Israel Adesanya, a New Zealander-Nigerian mixed martial artist, has described Nigeria as "a very corrupt place."
He stated that he likes Nigerians, but there are many red flags regarding the country.
The Hut Boxin' audiovisual podcast recently featured The Last Stylebender in an episode.
Adesanya stated that Nigerian authorities are desperate to steal public monies.
“Nigeria is a very corrupt place. I love my people but it is just that the government; everyone trying to find a way to siphon money.”
Remember that Israel Adesanya wore the Nigerian flag when he knocked out long-time adversary Alex Pereira to recover his Middleweight championship at UFC 287 on April 9, 2023.
He received $3.18 million for his battle against the Brazilian, making him the third highest-paid UFC fighter in history, after only Conor McGregor and Jon Jones.
It is his largest payout to date.
Meanwhile, Adesanya has received congratulatory messages from notable Nigerians including the INEC declared winner of the 2023 presidential polls, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose party APC has come out to explain how a forfeited $460,000 'drug' money is linked to 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu.'
