Following the successes recorded by Eko International Film Festival in past editions, this year’s film submissions has been undaunting as some of the top movies from all regions of the earth has already been submitted and will be featured in the Eko International Film Festival. Categories covered include: Feature Film, Short Film, Fiction, Documentaries, Short Documentaries, Indigenous Film (Sub titled in English) and Animations.

The annual Eko International Film Festival (EKOIFF) is an international film festival held annually in the coastal mega-city of Lagos, a state that boasts an estimated 21 million people (2017) in Nigeria comprising of locales and internationals, a vast majority of whom has a keen interest in movies and the fast growing cinema culture in the clime.

The submission which has a regular deadline of August 31, 2018, has a late deadline of September 15, 2018, after which all entries for the event will cease and progress to the selection stage.

The inaugural edition was held in the megacity of Lagos in summer, July 7-12, 2010, at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas of The Palms in Lekki, Lagos, with filmmakers from Nigeria, Kenya, UK, Germany, France, Spain and America.

But the next edition promises to exceed expectations. So far, submissions this year, for the event billed for March 11 – 16, 2019, has been oceanic as new entrants from more countries have built more anticipation. Submissions from US, UK, Nigeria, Canada, Mexico, France, Brazil, Turkey, Israel, Russia, Morocco, Netherlands, Malaysia, Germany, Japan, Belgium and a host of others has upped the ante!
