- This was Coolidge's second consecutive Emmy for playing Tanya, beating several co-stars and veterans.
- Though Tanya died last season, the role lives on through possible flashbacks teased by creator Mike White, letting Coolidge have the last laugh despite stiff competition.

Tanya, Jennifer Coolidge's White Lotus character, died a year ago after being thrown off a yacht by a gang of murderous gays. However, the iconic role received one final Hollywood send-off on Monday night at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
"I want to thank all the evil gays," Coolidge joked as she accepted her award for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series. It was her second consecutive Emmy for her role as Tanya in Mike White's hit HBO show.
After thanking White for the life-changing opportunity, Coolidge concluded her acceptance speech with Tanya's signature refrain: "I had a little dream in my little town, and it came true." Her message was simple: "Do not give up on your dreams."
Coolidge outperformed several of her White Lotus co-stars, including Aubrey Plaza, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Meghann Fahy, as well as veterans like J. Smith-Cameron and Rhea Seehorn.
While Tanya may be sleeping with the fishes, White has hinted at possible flashback episodes featuring the vodka-obsessed socialite from 20 years ago. Coolidge has even joked about filming the prequel in Australia.
Though The White Lotus dominated with 23 nominations, the HBO series faced stiff competition from Succession, whose stars took their final Emmy lap this year. Jennifer Coolidge, both in and out of character, had the last laugh.
