chidinma chigbu

Eze Victor Eze:

Can we get to meet you, who really is Dinma Chigbu?

 Chidinma Chigbu Dinma

Well, my full name is actually Chidinma Chigbu, currently the Miss Galaxy Nigeria Carnival Queen...... very ambitious, loving, and (I tell you) very nice to be with.

Eze Victor Eze:

It’s my pleasure too

 Dinma Dinma

You’re welcome

Eze Victor Eze:

Besides being a queen, what else should we know about your career?

 Dinma Dinma

Uhmmm, I’ve always loved to be in the entertainment industry

And this is the first step I’ve taken in my career step

Eze Victor Eze:

Interesting.smiley What inspired you to go the way of a beauty queen?

 Dinma Dinma

The way God created me and seeing how far Agbani Darego has gone in life with the same stature, and then I told myself I need to step into this because I was created that way for purpose. Then I started.

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyReally. What similarities are there between you and Agbani Darego that has spurred you on?

 Dinma Dinma

I guess it's the stature

Eze Victor Eze:

The stature? winkPlease can you elaborate on this with your statistic for those who might not recall how Agbani Darego looked back then?

 Dinma Dinma

Okay, my statistics are 32", 26", 34", 5.8ft

Eze Victor Eze:

Waoh! 5.8ft? I'm fortunate not to have to look up to see your face while standing.

 Dinma Dinma

Hahaha, you really are

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyYea, I agree. How did your parents perceive this goal of yours? Were they at some point in opposition to your choice to be a beauty queen?

 Dinma Dinma

Yes, they were, but at a point, they had to support me because they found out it was what I’ve been longing to do right from when I was a kid...

They just had to agree with me and backed me up with advice

Eze Victor Eze:

Why did they initially resist & how were you able to convince them?

 Dinma Dinma

Especially, my Dad, he didn't buy the idea. His reason was that I was going to be distracted from my studies.

But as God may have it, this one came up as I was about to finish my final exams, so I begged him to allow me since the exams were gonna be over before the grand finale, so he didn't have any choice not to allow me.

 Dinma Dinma

Eze Victor Eze:

Oh, your studies. I guess that must have been a valid basis for concern, not so?

 Dinma Dinma

That's true

Eze Victor Eze:

Alright. Looking at the beauty pageant industry, and considering that most eligible participants are schooling, what challenges would you say a student faces while engaging in it?

 Dinma Dinma

Well the challenges are quite large, sometimes finances won’t be available for one to get stuff needed, or the lectures in school might be taking the participant's time

Eze Victor Eze:

In the movie industry, producers and directors have been alleged to pressure the female folks into some affairs before being assured a role. Does this exist in the beauty pageant industry?

 Dinma Dinma

I can’t say for sure because I haven't experienced that before. But I’m not saying it does not exist in the pageantry industry

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyAlright. Where do you see yourself in the industry a decade from now?

 Dinma Dinma

Wow! Dunno if I’m to call it a short or long-term goal, but whatever it is, I see myself as a famous Queen, who's not only known in Nigeria but internationally in a decade from now

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyThat seems a tall goal. Do you see yourself repeating the feat achieved by Agbani Darego again?

 Dinma Dinma

I see myself repeating it

Eze Victor Eze:

smileySo, what projects on the national stage are you embarking on that will get you closer to that dream besides where you are now?

 Dinma Dinma

When my reign expires as Miss Galaxy Nig. Carnival, then I would try the MBGN, Miss Nigeria, or any higher contest than the one I’m in currently... I believe aspiring higher is the key

Eze Victor Eze:

Alright. Let's veer a bit into some soft sides of you and life. As a beauty queen, do you face pressure from men who want more of you? smiley If yes, how do you cope?

 Dinma Dinma

Yes, I do... I think is normal for every lady whether a beauty queen or no beauty queen... I don't know how but I just cope by God's grace I guess

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyWell, it should be much of a pressure for a 5.8ft beauty queen. Don't you think so?

 Dinma Dinma

Your right though

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyWould you describe Nigerian men as romantic in comparison with their counterparts in the western world and other climes? On a scale of 1 -10, how would you rate Nigerian men in this regard?

 Dinma Dinma

If I’m not to rate, I would say it's just vice versa, because not all Nigerian men are romantic and the same as their counterparts in the Western World. But if I’m to rate I would say 5

Eze Victor Eze:

smileySo, are you saying Nigerian men are average? smileyWho would you describe as your ideal date?

 Dinma Dinma

Yea. Lol, ideal date? Never thought of that before

winkIf I do I would tell you (winks)

But it's all in the package

Eze Victor Eze::

smileyIs that to say you don't have a preference?

 Dinma Dinma

I do

Eze Victor Eze:

So can you let us in on it?:)

smiley

 Dinma Dinma

I guess it is best known to me. If I say it loud he might not come my way. So let’s just leave it aside

Eze Victor Eze:

 smileyInteresting

 Dinma Dinma

Yeas...

Eze Victor Eze:

When you aren't working or studying, what lightens up your mood?

 Dinma Dinma

Movies do

Eze Victor Eze:

Oh, really smiley

To round it up, we'd like to ask you this: Imagine you were married, and you had just one lifebuoy to give out between your husband and your mother, in a ship that is capsizing in the middle of a sea, who would you give it to?

smiley

 Dinma Dinma

Mmmh, I will just wake up because it's a dream...... lol

Mum or hubby? Nahhhh..... It will be a dream

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyWell in this case we ain't making it a dream. Just tell us who if you find yourself in this situation ??

 Dinma Dinma

Huh? Difficult question indeed, but I will give it to my husband

Eze Victor Eze:

Woah! smileyPlease tell us why

 Dinma Dinma

Uhmmm, because we are still trying to live a life together, but my mum, she has lived hers..... also she won’t even accept the lifebuoy for the same reason. It’s difficult though.

Eze Victor Eze:

smileyYes, you can now wake up from this dream. Miss Chidinma Chigbu, I appreciate your obliging us this interaction with you and hope that you'd be available the next time we will be interviewing you, perhaps as a miss Nigeria or miss world. smiley

 Dinma Dinma

Thank God for the dream gone by.....You are welcome and I’m looking forward to that time.
