Polling Units With No Registered Voters by INEC

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, said Monday during a meeting with political parties in Abuja that there are 240 polling units with no registered voters and where voting would not take place on the 25th of February and 11th of March.

Yakubu further stated that the country currently has a total of 176,606 polling units where the general election would be held.

Mahmood Yakubu said that voters assigned to new voting units would get text messages informing them of their new polling units before the general elections on February 25 and March 11, 2023.

The Chairman of the Electoral Commission stated that the commission has made it easier for voters to locate their polling locations before the election. All voters will need to do is submit text messages or WhatsApp messages to a specific phone number, which will then be posted to INEC's social media channels.

The electoral board also took advantage of the opportunity to assure Nigerians that the poll will not be postponed.
